Essential Driver Training: The facts?

EDT Driving Lessons Ardmulchen

As part of an initiative to improve the poor statistics of young drivers getting killed or injured on our roads the Road Safety Authority introduced the EDT.

The EDT syllabus requires that 12 structured driving lessons have to be completed, stamped and uploaded to the RSA website by a registered ADI.

This 12 lesson syllabus has been designed to ensure young drivers practice vital driving skills and develop a more comprehensive understanding of road safety.

Preparing for the Driving Test in Ardmulchen

Training to pass the driving test is completely different from learning to drive. Long before sitting the driving test you should have the necessary skills and understanding to drive without putting your life or the lives of others in danger. Most driving instructors will keep giving you lessons until they ‘think’ you are ready. Often they will send you to do the test not really knowing if you will pass or not. That is because of a total lack of understanding on how the tester thinks and marks you during the test. This is not how we do things. All our instructors have been trained by ex-testers so they fully understand the driving tester and what they are looking for from you on test day.

We don’t like leaving things to chance. Our pretest training fully simulates the 4 different stages of the driving test and fully prepares you for the way the tester will talk to you and how they mark the test sheet.

When we share this knowledge and understanding with our students it is like giving them all the answers to an exam before they even know the questions. Which is why so many of our student pass first time. That means less lessons and less expense to you.
