What is Essential Driver Training?

EDT Driving Lessons Ratoath

It is an unfortunate fact that Ireland is among the worst countries in Europe for road deaths and accidents. The Road Safety Authority had to do something so they designed a new training syllabus that all new drivers had to complete. The Essential Driver Training or EDT.

The EDT syllabus requires that 12 structured driving lessons have to be completed, stamped and uploaded to the RSA website by a registered ADI.

Learning to drive safely means understanding and exercising specific driving skills and these 12 EDT lessons have been designed to accomplish that.

Preparing for the Test in Ratoath

The test is your chance to show that you are safe enough to drive unaccompanied. That is because of a total lack of understanding on how the tester thinks and marks you during the test. This is not how we do things. All our instructors have been trained by ex-testers so they fully understand the driving tester and what they are looking for from you on test day.

We're not in the business of gambling on your success. We simulate for you all 4 stages of the test, teach you all the test routes and focus on the areas of your driving that are most likely to get you the most marks or fail you.
