Driving lessonsCabra
Tell us where you will be and we will meet you there, at home, at Broombridge station or outside Cabra Community College. The lesson starts when you sit into the car.
What Cabra learners get from us
Before you pick a driving school in Cabra, it helps to know what the price includes. Here is what comes with every lesson we give.
Meet at the station
We can pick you up at Pelletstown station on your way home from work, from Cabra Community College after class, or from your front door. Drop-off works the same way, and it is all in the price.
Taught the way testers think
Our instructors are RSA-approved and learned their trade from former driving testers. You find out early what a tester looks for, in a car with dual controls.
Patience in every lesson
Shouting has no place in our cars. Nervous learners in Cabra set the pace, and a calm instructor beside you makes mistakes easy to fix and easy to forget.
Ready when you are, not before
We will not sell you hours you do not need. When you are ready to sit the test we say so, and when you are not, we tell you what is still missing.
Your choice of gearbox
Cabra learners can pick either gearbox with us. Keep in mind that a manual pass lets you drive both, while an automatic pass is coded 78 and covers automatics only.
An instructor who suits you
When you get in touch, tell us what matters to you and we match you with someone who fits. A female instructor is available on request.

Manual driving lessons Cabra
A manual licence gives you the most freedom later, because it covers manual and automatic cars alike. Lessons in Cabra start with the clutch, the biting point and smooth stops, then move on to roundabouts and hill starts. You will drive on Cabra Road and Ratoath Road as your control improves, and later on Blackhorse Avenue. A single manual lesson is €53.27, with collection from home, college or Broombridge station included in that figure.
Book manual lessons ↗Automatic driving lessons Cabra
Automatic driving lessons in Cabra take the clutch out of the picture. You steer, brake and watch the road, which suits learners who found gears a struggle or who only plan to drive an automatic car later. A single lesson costs €61.41, and the EDT course is €659.24. Remember that the licence you get is code 78, limited to automatic cars.

Cabra driving lesson prices
These prices apply in Cabra and everywhere else we teach. You will not pay a booking fee, and we never ask to keep your card.
EDT lessons in Cabra
Essential Driver Training is 12 set lessons that every learner permit holder must complete with an Approved Driving Instructor before the test. Your instructor signs the logbook after each one. In Cabra the full course is €587.95 in a manual or €659.24 in an automatic.
You can be collected from Broombridge station for one EDT lesson and from home for the next, whatever fits your week. Some foreign licence holders qualify for a reduced six lesson course instead of the full twelve. Tell us which licence you hold when you call and we will check.
What the EDT covers ↗Cabra to the test centre
From Cabra, the closest centre is Finglas, about 9 minutes and 5 km by road. Mulhuddart (Maple House) is 7.3 km, around 12 minutes. Killester is 7.7 km at about 14 minutes, and Raheny is 9 km at about 17. With four centres in reach, it can pay to apply to one further out if it has an earlier date.
Your pretest lesson is an hour on the roads around the centre you picked, and the fee includes car hire for the test. You take the test in the car you practised in, so nothing about it is new. From Cabra, as from anywhere we cover, that costs €183.63 manual or €193.81 automatic.
Where Cabra lessons take you
Lessons take in Cabra Road and Ratoath Road early on, once you can move off and stop without fuss. As your confidence grows, Finglas Road comes into the mix, giving you longer drives where you hold your speed, read the road ahead and plan each turn in good time before you reach it.
Pick-up points are easy to arrange. Broombridge station and Pelletstown station both work if you come off the train, and students from Saint Dominic's College can be met after school. Tesco, Prussia Street, is another spot we can collect you from, and we drop you wherever you need to be after.
We also teach in Glasnevin and Ashtown, and each of them has its own page on this site. Wherever you start, the lessons, the prices and the instructors are the same, and the test centre you choose is up to you. If you are not sure we cover your street, give us a ring and ask.

The EDT: a guide
Each EDT lesson ends with a signature in your logbook, so you always know how far along you are. The test sheet shows the faults a tester marks. We go through both with Cabra learners as lessons go on, so nothing on the day of your test comes as news.
